2022 Subaru Legacy Price, Colors, Release Date

2022 Subaru Legacy Price, Colors, Release DateTraditional styling with utilitarian foundations, such as a standard AWD drivetrain, are the hallmarks of the Subaru Legacy in 2022. Like many competitors, the 2022 Subaru Legacy doesn’t look overly futuristic. It has a traditional yet good-looking exterior that I’m sure many people appreciate. Many people think cars are getting the drastic so-called “futuristic” treatment on the exterior, which is rather strange. The seventh-generation Subaru Legacy is unchanged for the upcoming year, with only minor tweaks and a few new features added. We’ll find out if the Legacy can compete with these more modern-looking devices.

Exterior Design

Thanks to its sporty and attractive design language, the 2022 Subaru Legacy is one of the best-looking vehicles in its class. The Legacy has a luxurious yet sporty appearance that is pleasing to behold. The 2022 Legacy is available in seven different colors, which may not go well with the trim options you select. Despite its shorter overall length and shorter wheelbase, the Legacy’s interior is roomier than any of its competitors in this class.

One of the segment’s most spacious interiors, the 2022 Subaru Legacy’s second-row legroom is 39.5 inches. Premium and high-quality materials have been used to build the cabin, which is spacious and bright. In the base and Premium trims, the seats are covered in cloth. In contrast, the Sport trim has two-tone gray cloth upholstery with red stitching. The Limited trim has leather-trimmed upholstery, further upgraded to Sierra Tan Nappa leather-trimmed upholstery in the top Touring XT trim level. Leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter lever are standard on all save the cheapest model, making the vehicle look and feel more expensive.

The seats are supportive and can be adjusted manually in six ways in the base trim, while powered seats can be adjusted in ten tracks, and the front passenger seats can be adjusted manually in four ways. Passenger seats in the top-end models have 8-way power, while the driver’s seat has two-position memory. While base versions have heated front seats and heated back seats, mid-level trims have heated rear seats, while the top-tier Touring XT model has 3-mode ventilated front seats. 15.1 cubic feet of cargo space can be found in the Legacy’s trunk.

2022 Subaru Legacy Engine

The 2022 Subaru Legacy is available in two different powerplant configurations. Subaru’s 2.5-liter DOHC direct-injection aluminum-alloy 16-valve 4-cylinder horizontally opposed Subaru Boxer (Flat 4) engine produces 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque in the base Legacy vehicles. In addition to the 8-speed manual mode, the Lineartronic CVT transmission has Adaptive Control coupled to an 8-speed automatic mode. More powerful engines and transmissions are used in the newer XT versions, including a 2.4-liter DOHC Direct-Injection Turbocharged flat engine with Dual Active Valve Control System (DAVCS) that generates 277 pounds of maximum power and torque.

While the original engine takes eight seconds to reach 60 mph and 16.2 seconds to complete a quarter-mile, the more powerful engine could do the same task in 6.1 seconds and 14.7 seconds. The standard engine is underpowered and does not suit a spirited driving style. The turbocharged engine is more responsive, but it also consumes more gas when it comes to performance. Compared to the larger engine, the smaller engine can only achieve 130 mph, whereas the more potent engine can go even faster. Despite its segment-leading road-gripping and responsive steering, the Legacy isn’t the best-handling car in its class. The car’s ride quality is also excellent, making it a solid pick in this price range.
