2023 Subaru Ascent Colors, Release Date, Colors – It is rare for Subarus to be the best in their class. The exterior styling, features, and interior quality of rival vehicles tend to be better. It’s hard to argue that these dependable Japanese vehicles, with their basic all-wheel drive and stellar crash test results, aren’t always the best bets. The 2023 Subaru Ascent Colors is a three-row SUV that perfectly embodies the Subaru brand for those looking for a practical vehicle.
2023 Subaru Ascent Redesign
The new 2023 Subaru Ascent Colors trim is in the middle of Ascent’s five trim options. The blacked-out grille, black window trim, black emblems, and black mirror caps all add some flair to this version. There are 20-inch wheels on the vehicle that have been blackened. The carpeted floor mats include distinctive emblems, and black interior decorations can be found throughout the vehicle.
A heated steering wheel is also standard on the Ascent, as is a power liftgate and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a push-button start. All three rows have USB ports and three-zone climate control. At no additional charge, there are 19 cup and bottle holders for your convenience.
The cabin of the 2023 Subaru Ascent Colors is honest and functional, but if you’re looking for frills, you’ll need to search elsewhere. While the dashboard may be a little cluttered, there are plenty of textured soft plastics around the cabin. Color contrast stitching and perforated fabrics lighten the mood.
However, not everything deserves appreciation. Hardware buttons for the infotainment system appear to be of poor quality, and there is an abundance of chrome and painted-silver embellishments throughout. The black plastic trim on the dashboard and doors is probably the worst feature of the Ascent’s interior. StarTex synthetic upholstery is also standard on this Ascent, making it water- and dirt-resistant.
However, the 8-inch touchscreen is standard across all Ascent models save the base model. Subaru’s Starlink multimedia system isn’t going to win any beauty contests, but it’s easy to use and responsive enough for most people. The Ascent comes equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, although a built-in navigation system is an option.
Passenger satisfaction is a strong suit of the Ascent. It has a roomy second-row captain’s chair that can be adjusted fore and aft, tip and slide for simple access to the third row, and comfortable bucket seats in the front. There isn’t a lot of headroom in the backbench, but it’s not as bad as in rival vehicles, and the bottom cushion is high enough that your knees aren’t at chin level when you sit back there. The small grasp handles on the second-row seatbacks are also a favorite feature of mine. They make it a little easier to go to the third row.
2023 Subaru Ascent Engine
The 2023 Subaru Ascent Colors has only one engine option. To keep up with the competition, the 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer-four is smooth and quiet. When it comes to power output, this engine delivers 260 horsepower and 277 pounds-feet of torque. The heat other three-row SUVs are putting out is in line with these numbers. Even though the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander have somewhat more power, the big, bad Subie has a little more torque. When it comes to SUVs, Ford’s Explorer has an obvious advantage over its competitors, with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that outmuscles the competition, particularly in ST form.
Ascent’s engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission that delivers eight simulated speeds when engaged manually. This vehicle does an excellent job of delivering both outstanding performance and fuel efficiency. Because of the SUV’s generous torque and gearing, it virtually leaps off the line when you press the gas. This enthusiasm extends to higher speeds as well. Although the Ascent isn’t a fast sports car, its overall performance is solid. However, I’d like it if the “gearbox” were more fluid. Even though CVTs don’t shift, this transmission feels clumsy and shudders slightly at lower speeds from time to time.
2023 Subaru Ascent Price and Release Date
The price of this new 2023 Subaru Ascent Colors SUV, which includes $1,125 in destination fees, is $41,320, which is in line with today’s average new-vehicle pricing. A $2,200 options package, which includes a panoramic sunroof, cargo-area cover, and navigation built in the Starlink infotainment system, bolsters that total. For a three-row SUV of this size, the Ascent is also an excellent value for the money.
