2023 Subaru Crosstrek Redesign, Turbo, PriceIn 2012, the Outback Sport was phased out and replaced by the Subaru Crosstrek. With a starting price of $23,445, the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, like the Outback, is a well-balanced hatchback/SUV with good ground clearance. An Impreza hatchback with some off-road features added in is what the Crosstrek is. In contrast to most of its competitors, it has excellent handling and maneuverability on paved roads. There exist two engine dimensions to select from: 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter. Subaru’s 2023 Crosstrek will face competition from the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona, and Honda HR-V in the subcompact crossover segment.

Exterior Design

As a carryover model, the styling of the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is projected to remain essentially unchanged. Headlights and grille are identical to those of the Impreza from which the Crosstrek is derived. Black cladding covers the front and rear bumpers and the roof rails, making the vehicle appear more challenging. More cladding and gunmetal gray accents adorn the Sport trim. 3188 pounds and 8.7 inches above the ground make up the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek.

Overall, the Crosstrek is a well-built vehicle with a sturdy exterior. The Crosstrek looks more like a hatchback than a four-door sedan compared to a crossover. A front bumper and grille redesigns were part of the 2022 Crosstrek facelift. Crosstrek’s 8.7-inch ground clearance is the highest in the comparison.

Interior Design

The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek will have a rugged and utilitarian design language, common among Subaru models. 5 people can fit comfortably in this vehicle thanks to the generous legroom and supportive seats. The car lacks style aside from the carbon fiber trims and orange stitching on the seats. Most crossovers have 60/40 split-folding rear seats that don’t fold flat like some competitors, restricting their practicality. Higher-end models’ leather seats are supportive and comfy.

There are no surprises when it comes to the layout of the controls. With so much adjustment available, finding a good driving posture is a piece of cake. Only rivals like the Kia Seltos and Honda HR-V, which are higher and more practical, have a better load capacity because of the hatchback’s shape. Because of the battery pack eating up cargo room, the Hybrid variant is significantly more constrained.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Engine

The Crosstrek will continue to be available with three different drivetrains, including a plug-in hybrid model. The base versions’ 2.0L naturally aspirated flat-4 engine makes 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. At 60 MPH, it takes 9 seconds to reach the quarter-mile mark, and it does so in 16.9 seconds. The 2.5L Flat-4 engine from the Outback, which produces 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque, powers the Sport and Limited trims. The quarter-mile time drops from 16 seconds to only 16 milliseconds with the added power.

The hybrid model is faster than the base 2.0L engine with an electric motor, accelerating from 0-60 mph in 8.3 seconds and completing a quarter-mile in 16.6 seconds. The 8.8 KwH battery has a range of up to 17 kilometers. The 6-speed manual transmission is expected on the Base, Premium, and Sport models, while the CVT transmission is only available on the Sport and Limited trim levels. It is common on every model to have Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel-drive technology.
