Subaru XV 2023 Release Date, Engine, Interior

Subaru XV 2023 Release Date, Engine, InteriorNew Subaru XV 2023 crossover has been spotted and about for the first time, testing ahead of its global debut in the year ahead of schedule. From what we can tell, the next model will include more advanced technology and turbocharged power. For the most part, the new model appears to have evolved from its predecessor. However, it retains the same combination of the current model’s hatchback shape with smoother lines and design ideas borrowed from Subaru’s most recent vehicles.

Rumors claim that the new subcompact crossover will use a new 1.5-lt turbocharged four-cylinder engine instead of the outdated 2.0-lt non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine. A year before the Subaru XV was slated to be unveiled, we asked Drive’s resident Photoshop genius Theophilus Chin to strip off the camouflage from the XV prototype, which was wearing a thin coating of concealment.

With a nod to the latest Forester, Outback, and WRX models for Subaru’s design language, we see the new XV as an evolutionary step forward from the existing car with sharper and more polished stylistic cues.

Exterior Design

The latest Subaru XV 2023 was recently spotted on the road, but unfortunately, it was covered with a thick camouflage layer. As far as we can tell, the style of the new XV is an improvement over the previous model. Compared to the Subaru Forester, this subcompact crossover has a more streamlined look and feel. The hexagonal grille is coupled with sleek new LED headlights in the front. In addition, we noticed the Viziv-inspired front-side intake detailing and fog lights. There are some Forester-inspired wheel-arch vents in front of the front wheels. There is a blend of vintage and new design influences in the taillights and off-road bumper.

Trim plastic strips connect the LED headlights to the hexagonal grille, which is flanked by a rugged-themed lower bumper with fog lights and black plastic accents, drawing inspiration from the Viziv Adventure concept unveiled in 2019. Inspired by the WRX sports sedan, the XV’s wheel arch flare design and broad rear haunches are derived. A distinctive pair of C-shaped taillights at the back is above a center skid plate, and outboard lower light surrounds.

Interior Design

The interior of the 2023 Subaru XV can’t be seen well in the latest spy pictures. However, a quick look out the windows revealed numerous improvements. A substantial 11.6-inch portrait touchscreen is the first feature of the Subaru XV. The latest WRX and Outback models have the same display. We’ve also heard that the new model will come standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite navigation, and climate control technology. Premium features, such as heated seats, leather upholstery, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and other features are carried over from the previous Subaru XV model.

Subaru’s latest 11.6-inch portrait central touchscreen – which includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite navigation, and digital climate controls – has room for a 12.3-inch instrument cluster on the XV’s range-topping models, according to spy photos (though it could be exclusive to Japan, as per the new WRX). From automatic emergency braking with intersection support and driver attention monitoring to adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring, Subaru’s latest EyeSight assistance technologies will be included.

The entertainment features of the 2024 Subaru XV will not be updated. The vehicle’s entertainment amenities include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, an 8-inch touchscreen, 6-speakers, music streaming, USB connection, and an aux port. As of now, there is no reliable information about how it will be improved in the forthcoming update.

Subaru XV 2023 Engine

The new 2023 Subaru XV is rumored to include a brand-new engine. New turbocharged four-cylinder engines are expected to replace the current 2.0-lt non-turbo engine. Based on what we’ve heard, the smaller engine should produce about the same amount of power. However, it’s not obvious what the future holds for the hybrid powertrain. The new-generation XV is expected to be powered by a new 1.5-lt turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces roughly 110kW, replacing the existing 2.0-lt non-turbo engine.

Many assume Toyota’s current hybrid powertrain will be used in the future generation. Last year, the XV’s most powerful 2.5-lt non-turbo four-cylinder was offered in the US, and we believe this engine will also replace the new one. We may expect all future Subaru models to be more competitive on the market due to a new Subaru strategy.

Subaru XV 2023 Price and Release Date

The Subaru XV 2.0i-L AWD, 2.0i Premium AWD, 2.0i-S AWD, Hybrid L AWD, and Hybrid S AWD will be available in 2023, according to the Subaru website. Depending on the model, the price ranges from $36,000+ to $39,000+ to $39,000+ to $40,000.
